During the early onset of the pandemic, I realised that my design and style choices were becoming too familiar. I didn’t want that. To break out of the box I’d put myself in, I started designing something everyday that would be outside my preferred design choices. I decided to create a series of posters for songs I was listening to. All the songs had a very different vibe as they belonged to different genres, timelines and were by different artistes. The posters were done with mainly type and without the use of images.
Some of the skeletons of the final versions of the posters. Seeing the composition without colour allows me to see the inadequacies in layout. Not using images, but restricting myself to type was both challenging and fun.
